Out of every 4 dying Americans, one is a Veteran!
The We Honor Veterans program was created by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) alongside the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Together, they ask hospice care providers to create a partnership with them to provide compassionate and respectful hospice care for American Veterans.
Because they suffer from service-related illnesses such as PTSD, psychosocial issues and more, veterans require unique and special care. We work with veterans’ families and the VA to provide quality care. Accredited Hospice of America is honored to offer services to making sure that veterans receive the help they need.
The “We Honor Veterans” Program allows hospice care providers and the Veterans’ Administration to constantly collaborate care. We believe those who have served our country deserve excellent care and services when faced with a serious illness. Therefore, we actively partner with the VA to help patients apply for benefits. Accredited Hospice of America educates patients on which benefits are available to them. We also work as a team with medical staff of the VA. In most cases, veterans and their immediately family members are given access to benefits from Medicare and the VA. Our admissions and billing staff members will help you access the services to which you are entitled. Veterans have unique medical needs, so we train our staff to meet those needs.
